Every pharmacy student knows that studying and remembering a monograph is very difficult! and when it comes to remember the whole of the first year portion in inorganic it is more than impossible!
Our lecturer used to say a method to remember the monographs. Try it out. and see.

First, lets take the example of a general assay in a monograph. Lets say for example NaCl
Just remembering, the quantities of the chemicals used is not at all important in writing an answer.

Instead of saying 0.5g of NaCl is taken, you can say a specfic weighed amount of NaCl is taken.

Look at the following notations:

Mohr's method
[NaCl + 50mL H2O + indicator]

Vs

[0.1 N AgNO3]

Volhard's method (Back Precipitation Titration):
[0.1g NaCl + 50mL H2O + 50mL 0.1N AgNO3 + 3mL HNO3 + 5mL Nitrobenzene + 2mL FAS]

Vs

[0.1N NH4SCN]

The whole formula on the above of "Vs" is the titrate. and below it is titrant. As in Titrate Vs Titrant
So, if you can construct such a formula to all assays in monographs and it would be easy for you remember and produce it on paper on the day of the examination.
As I said, the quantities are not important, here the chemicals are under the light. So, try it and see
and let me know if it helped.

Thank you.
